Senior Associate – Quality Control Microbiology Lab

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Associate to lead advanced microbiology projects within its Quality Control Lab. The role focuses on environmental monitoring, aseptic practices, and ensuring product compliance in a fast‑paced eye‑care manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the microbiology subject‑matter expert for aseptic manufacturing, contamination control and microbiological quality assurance.
• Manage environmental monitoring and microbiological testing programs to maintain cleanroom control.
• Support validation, qualification and routine microbiological assessments for product quality and regulatory compliance.
• Lead investigations of microbiological excursions, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Validation teams to drive process improvements and inspection readiness.
• Review and approve microbiological test results, procedures, protocols and reports in accordance with GMP requirements.
• Provide microbiological expertise, training and mentorship to site personnel and junior staff.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in microbiology within a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and proven track record of leading technical investigations.
• Excellent documentation skills and ability to work in a two‑shift rotating schedule.
