Senior Audiologist

About the role

NHG is hiring a Senior Audiologist to deliver comprehensive audiology services across the lifespan, with a focus on elderly patients with hearing loss and auditory-related disorders. The role works within a multidisciplinary team and reports to the Head of NHG Health Centre, providing coordinated, patient-centred care in a community health setting.

Key responsibilities

• Clinical duties (80%): conduct audiological assessments, diagnostic tests and aural toilet procedures; diagnose and plan treatment, including hearing aid fitting and prescription
• Counsel patients and families on hearing and communication management, including tinnitus counselling and vestibular testing where required
• Deliver preventive services and community clinic consultations, referring patients to other medical services as needed
• Supervise and train newly joined audiologists and audiology technicians
• Administer clinic operations: daily equipment calibration, machine maintenance, stock and hearing aid inventory management
• Document department statistics, process monthly workload reports and issue tax invoices
• Maintain work instructions and policies, support commissioning of new audiology booths at new sites, and support ad hoc screening activities
• Support departmental initiatives, health promotion and quality improvement efforts

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Audiology or Master of Science (Audiology)
• 2 years of clinical audiology experience preferred but not required
• Eligibility for membership in the Singapore, British, Australian or American Audiological Societies; a Certificate of Competence or Clinical Certificate is desirable
• Strong problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
