Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Evooq is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join its core engineering team. You will work on the flagship product, delivering new features and enhancements using modern Java technologies within a hybrid on‑premise and cloud architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality backend services with Java 17 and Spring Boot.
• Own the full software lifecycle: analysis, prototyping, design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and support.
• Ensure code correctness, maintainability, and sustainability while promoting best‑practice design and testing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into efficient cloud solutions.

Required profile

• Can‑do attitude with a focus on end‑to‑end delivery.
• Strong understanding of modern, scalable software architecture; distributed systems knowledge is a plus.
• Passion for clean code and continuous improvement.
• Team‑player who values collaboration, humility, and pragmatic problem‑solving.

Required skills

• Java (object‑oriented programming) and Spring Boot.
• Gradle, Docker, and basic cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
• SQL and relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with software build, versioning, and deployment workflows.
