Senior Barista

About the role

The Senior Barista at KOKO Kawane leads the beverage team, ensuring the cafe’s matcha and drink offerings meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency and customer experience. Reporting to the Lead Barista, you will mentor junior staff, manage daily operations and support financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of specialty drinks, matcha beverages and food items according to company recipes and presentation standards.
• Oversee daily cafe operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies through Netsuite, and equipment maintenance.
• Assist in labor management by scheduling barista shifts to align with sales patterns and control labor costs.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas that comply with SFA Hygiene Standards.
• Provide outstanding customer service, engage with guests, suggest complementary items and handle inquiries or issues professionally.
• Train and mentor junior baristas on onboarding, brand culture, safety, hygiene, matcha whisking, milk frothing, latte art and equipment use.
• Support the Lead Barista in all aspects of beverage operations to ensure consistent product quality and smooth execution.

Required profile

• Leadership experience in a fast‑paced café or beverage environment.
• Proven ability to train and mentor junior staff.
• Strong understanding of the KOKO Kawane brand and commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Capability to manage inventory, ordering and labor scheduling efficiently.
