Senior Clinical Psychologist (Mood Disorders Unit)

About the role

The Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Singapore is recruiting a Senior Clinical Psychologist for its Psychology Department and the Mood Disorders Unit (MDU). The MDU is a specialist multidisciplinary service offering assessment, treatment and recovery-focused care for adults with depressive disorders, bipolar and related disorders and other complex mood conditions, serving both inpatient and outpatient populations. The Senior Clinical Psychologist provides specialist assessment, intervention, consultation and service development, works with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, and leads by supervising junior psychologists and trainees.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention, including psychometric assessment and evidence-based individual psychotherapy, for inpatient and outpatient populations.
• Facilitate and evaluate structured therapeutic group programmes for people with mood and related disorders.
• Contribute to the training, supervision and professional development of psychologists, psychology trainees and allied health professionals.
• Support mental health promotion, psychoeducation, service development and other professional activities within the Institute's framework.
• Take part in research, quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
• Support the development and evaluation of specialised mood disorder services, give professional guidance to subordinate staff and take on operational duties in direct clinical care.

Required profile

• Master of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from an established university.
• Relevant working experience preferred; for the Senior Clinical Psychologist, 3 to 5 years is preferred.
• Accreditation, registration or license with an established or recognised psychological professional body is an advantage.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team.
