Senior Design Engineer / Assistant Design Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer who will also act as Assistant Design Manager to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities for major infrastructure projects. The role involves close collaboration with consultants, BIM modelers and subcontractors to deliver high‑quality civil, structural, architectural and M&E designs that meet Singapore’s regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Design Manager in overseeing design across civil, structural, architectural and M&E disciplines.
• Own specific design packages, driving them from concept through to final approval.
• Coordinate with consultants, internal teams, BIM modelers and subcontractors to resolve clashes and streamline workflows.
• Review and validate design drawings, structural calculations and authority submissions before client or regulator review.
• Interface with LTA, consultants and authorities to secure design approvals and address technical queries.
• Monitor design schedules to ensure alignment with project milestones.
• Incorporate constructability, safety (DFS) and compliance with Eurocodes, LTA standards and local codes.
• Provide technical support to site teams, optimise designs and resolve on‑site design issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering recognised by the Singapore PE Board (or equivalent).
• 6–8 years of civil/structural engineering experience on major infrastructure, LTA or MRT projects.
• 3–5 years in a senior or coordinating role managing large‑scale transport, viaduct, tunnel or station designs.
• Strong knowledge of LTA design criteria, TOP/CSC submission processes and local regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deliverables and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks.
• Experience in BIM coordination and clash detection.
• Structural design and calculation expertise.
• Familiarity with Eurocodes and LTA standards.
• Temporary works design and construction staging concepts.
