Senior DevOps Engineer – Infrastructure (Citizen Dev)

About the role

As a DevOps engineer on the Airwallex team, you will lead the design of our DevOps strategy and work closely with cross‑functional teams to evolve a cloud infrastructure that is performant, scalable and secure, supporting the next 10x growth. You will develop observability and detection capabilities to reduce time‑to‑detect issues while maintaining agility and security. Building consensus across global DevOps engineers on tools, practices and standards is a key part of the role.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of the DevOps strategy and cloud infrastructure to support rapid growth.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimise performance, scalability and security of services.
• Develop observability and detection capabilities to reduce mean‑time‑to‑detect incidents.
• Build consensus across global DevOps engineers on tools, practices and standards.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Ansible or shell scripting.
• Software‑engineering background in infrastructure/platform engineering, including cost and access management and self‑service platform development.
• Operations experience with Kubernetes and Istio service mesh, covering traffic management and service‑mesh architecture.
