Senior Director, Process Support Engineer – Advanced Packaging

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a senior leader to drive process support for its advanced packaging equipment portfolio. The role combines deep technical expertise with strategic customer engagement to resolve complex field issues and guide technology adoption across global sites.

Key responsibilities

• Lead systematic troubleshooting of unusually complex field process issues, employing statistical techniques and Design of Experiments to identify root causes.
• Coordinate cross‑functional resources, creating mechanisms to communicate issues, track progress, and pull expertise from multiple business units.
• Oversee customer demonstrations, define demo conditions, analyze results, and ensure successful technology transfer.
• Partner with account teams to enhance customer satisfaction, negotiate process specifications, and deliver solutions that meet defined requirements.
• Provide technical expertise to customers, influence product strategy, and deliver feedback on process and hardware improvements.
• Present executive‑level briefings, form strategic partnerships, and manage joint development or beta‑site testing programs.

Required profile

• Broad and comprehensive understanding of semiconductor process systems, theories, and practices.
• Proven leadership experience managing senior managers, driving segment strategy, and influencing executive stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to resolve highly complex technical challenges.
