Senior Embedded Test Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Test Engineer to join our Singapore‑based project team developing communication modules for industrial automation. You will build test infrastructure, define test strategies and implement automated tests for hardware and firmware components.

Key responsibilities

• Create and review automated test conditions, scripts, input data and expected results for functional verification.
• Participate in test planning within an Agile/Scrum environment and analyse specifications to derive regression test cases.
• Identify issues and risks, raise them appropriately and suggest mitigation actions.
• Prepare regression, ad‑hoc and re‑tests as required and collaborate with test leaders and the Scrum team.
• Contribute to test process improvements and quality enhancements.
• Assist with test reporting, exit‑criteria evaluation and bug resolution together with developers.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master degree in Electronic, Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 3‑5 years of experience in software/firmware testing for industrial automation products such as DCS, PLC, SCADA or I/O systems.
• Hands‑on experience with PLC programming tools (CodeSys, SoMachine, Unity) and communication protocols (Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, CANOpen).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA is a plus.

Required skills

• C/C++ programming.
• Python scripting.
• AutoIt (or similar) for test automation.
• CodeSys, SoMachine, Unity PLC development environments.
• Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, CANOpen protocol knowledge.
• Test automation tools such as TestComplete and CI/CD platforms like Jenkins.
• JIRA for issue tracking.
