Senior Engineer, ERP2 Development (Oracle Database)

About the role

The employer is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to support the migration, administration and modernization of platforms supporting enterprise applications. The role covers the full database lifecycle, including migration to Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) on AWS or Azure, and includes evaluating and adopting the latest AI Database capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Migrate Oracle Database 19c environments to GCC on AWS and Azure with minimal disruption to business operations.
• Design, implement and maintain database replication between on-premises and cloud environments.
• Plan and execute Oracle installations, configuration, upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Perform proactive administration: performance tuning, SQL optimization, capacity planning, health monitoring and preventive maintenance.
• Design backup, recovery, High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
• Apply patches, security updates and configuration changes in line with security policies and best practices.
• Work with application, infrastructure, cloud and DevOps teams on deployments, integrations and cloud migration.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, automate tasks with scripting and keep technical documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience designing, implementing and administering Oracle databases in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience migrating Oracle databases from on-premises to cloud platforms, preferably GCC on AWS or Azure.
• Experience with Oracle HA, DR and migration technologies such as Oracle GoldenGate, Data Guard, RMAN and Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM).
• Experience administering Oracle on Linux and deploying workloads to AWS and/or Azure.
• Team player with strong analytical, troubleshooting and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Hands-on Oracle Database 19c administration, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, backup and recovery.
• Familiarity with Oracle AI Database technologies (Oracle AI Database 26ai, Oracle APEX, Select AI).
• Scripting and automation with Shell, Python or equivalent.
• Oracle, Oracle Cloud and cloud platform certifications preferred.
