Senior Engineer, Global Front End Planning (Satellite Scenario & Capital)
micron · Fab 10N/X
Job description
About the role
Micron is hiring a Senior Engineer for its Fab 10N/X in Singapore, covering global front-end planning for satellite scenarios and capital. The role calls for strong strategic planning, analytical thinking and creativity in applying optimization methods to find optimum loading, capital efficiency and sweet-spot studies. It relies on structured data analysis to understand market conditions, build optimal loading plans and give data-driven recommendations to executives.
Key responsibilities
- Apply optimization concepts to set optimal loading volumes across the horizon, meeting target bit (GB) and market share while considering new technology qualification milestones and ramp planning.
- Use industrial engineering concepts to model capacity thresholds for existing and future technologies, and analyze all scenario options, proposing options for better returns.
- Work with central teams to plan capacity needs for future products and quantify impacts on existing and future capital spend.
- Analyze cause-and-effect relationships for tooling purchases and capital impacts, define Cost of Transition (CoT) for each technology node and track the gap between budget and actual capex.
- Follow Business Planning Process calendars, coordinate with stakeholders on parameter updates for quarterly business plan studies, and manage databases, scenario ownership and change control.
- Create, maintain and update the Satellite SharePoint, and automate tasks to reduce manual errors.
- Manage complex projects across departments and sites, and analyze data to support financial decisions.
- Perform baseline capital spend analysis to keep cash flow neutral across the fiscal year, and monitor actual spend against projections with a target variance of less than +/- 5%.
- Work with site stakeholders on capital asset lifecycle management (CALM) data, simulations and dashboards, and highlight cash-flow savings opportunities.
Required profile
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in semiconductor capacity planning (industrial engineering) or strategic planning is preferred.
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Ability to apply AI, advanced analytics and industrial engineering methods to optimize loading, capital allocation, scenario evaluation and process automation.
- Experience building AI-assisted automation, dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Strong data analysis, validation, reporting and communication skills, and teamwork ability.
Required skills
- Proficiency in AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Power BI AI and Python-based analytics.
- Advanced Excel and SharePoint management.
- Dashboards and reports in Tableau and Power BI.
- Python coding is a plus.
