Senior Engineer (Policy and Regulations Department)

About the role

The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) regulates building safety and leads the transformation of Singapore's built environment. It is recruiting a Senior Engineer for its Policy and Regulations Department, which reviews policies and regulations on built-environment safety.

Key responsibilities

• Process and approve the structural plans and calculations of buildings submitted by Professional Engineers and Accredited Checkers.
• Perform audit checks on selected structures and carry out construction site checks.
• Take proactive action to prevent damage to adjacent properties.
• Investigate complaints about dangerous buildings, assess their structural integrity and safety.
• Review policies and regulations related to the safety of the built environment.

Required profile

• Degree in civil and structural engineering.
• At least 4 years of experience in structural design and analysis of buildings or infrastructure.
• Passed the Practice of Professional Engineering Examination (PPE); a registered professional engineer with the Professional Engineers Board Singapore is preferred.
