Senior Executive / Assistant Manager / Manager (Maritime Drone) - 1 Year Contract

About the role

This is a one-year contract position for a Maritime Drone Operations Specialist who supports the operational readiness of MPA and ensures the safe conduct of maritime drone activities. The role works closely with Port Inspectors, flying drones to assist in inspections, and acts as a safety officer during flights. Depending on operational needs, the person also conducts drone competency assessments and leads the use of drones for incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Operate drones to support maritime inspections, improving efficiency and data collection.
• Act as safety officer during drone flights, making sure operations follow safety protocols and guidelines.
• Conduct drone competency assessments to check operators' skills and compliance with standards.
• Provide incident response using drones to assess and mitigate risks quickly in emergencies.
• Help develop drone operational procedures with key stakeholders to improve safety and readiness.
• Ensure all operations meet safety standards, regulatory requirements and maritime best practice.
• Stay up to date with new developments in drone systems, procedures and incident response.

Required profile

• Certified CAAS UAPL holder.
• Experience operating drones in maritime or inspection environments is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of drone safety, operational risk management and relevant regulations.
• Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders so safety and operational guidelines are followed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in fast-paced, high-stakes situations.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when emergencies occur; time off will be given accordingly.
