Senior / Executive Engineer - Solar PV Project (1-Year Temporary)

About the role

A temporary position of 1 year is sought to support the Project Manager in delivering a solar photovoltaic (PV) project at the Singapore Rail Testing Centre (SRTC) in western Singapore, which will also be the main workplace. The role covers tender administration and project coordination, and the employment duration is tied to the deployment and commissioning of the solar PV system.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in overseeing end-to-end delivery of the solar PV project, including working with and facilitating the contractor on concept and detailed design, regulatory approvals and authority submissions, contractor and internal stakeholder coordination, installation and construction supervision, testing and commissioning, and handover and O&M coordination.
• Monitor project schedule, deliverables and milestones to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors and relevant authorities.
• Support site supervision to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and support implementation of site safety plans.
• Monitor contractor adherence to approved method statements and risk assessments.
• Help resolve technical, site and coordination issues.

Required profile

• Knowledge in engineering (electrical, mechanical, renewable energy or related discipline).
• Experience managing solar PV projects from design to commissioning and O&M.
• Familiarity with authority submission and approval processes and grid connection requirements.
• Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to work on-site in western Singapore and commit to the project through to completion within the contract duration.
• Preferred: project management experience, railway environment and rail safety experience, utility-scale or embedded solar PV experience, familiarity with electrical testing and commissioning procedures, good communication and reporting skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
