Senior Facilities Engineering Technician

About the role

NHG is hiring a Senior Facilities Engineering Technician to handle the engineering and maintenance of all building facility services at its hospital. The role is hands-on, covers 24/7 rotating shifts including nights, and requires working independently under tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair electrical, air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, plumbing, fire alarm and other building services systems
• Respond to water leaks, flooding, pump and water supply issues, and assess MEP breakdowns before escalating to the trade IC
• Work with LV switchboards, DBs, MCB/RCCB/RCD/UPS, generators and power outages
• Keep maintenance and breakdown records in the computerised system and maintain workshop tools and test equipment
• Run the Facilities Control Centre helpdesk and store when needed, and initiate spare parts procurement
• Inspect, test, service and troubleshoot facilities and equipment to keep them available

Required profile

• Diploma, Higher Nitec or Nitec in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• At least 4 years of engineering experience, preferably in building services
• Able to multitask, work independently and meet tight timelines
• Good English for reports; comfortable on a 24/7 rotating shift schedule
• CERT certification preferred
