Senior Field Support System Engineer

About the role

Pratt & Whitney Singapore, a business of RTX, is hiring a Senior Field Support System Engineer for its Component Repair site at 61 Seletar Aerospace View. The role is hybrid, alternating between office and remote work, and supports production, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) networks and airlines on PW1900G and PW1500G engines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to PW1900G/PW1500G production, MRO and airline customers.
• Analyze system-level events for production, MRO and fielded engines.
• Monitor engine performance, including performance trending, statistical process control, limit exceedances, quality assurance dispositions, test cell correlation, overhaul effectiveness via gas generator component analysis, deterioration modeling and trend shift diagnosis.
• Analyze engine operability, performance and product usage to ensure safe field operation, and trend fleet-wide performance and investigate anomalies.
• Review fielded engine event support and system analysis data, and support data analytics initiatives using field data and big data tools.
• Lead and support engineering root cause investigations (e.g. part failures) using event data, fleet usage data and aero-thermal models.
• Prepare and present technical reviews to program stakeholders and customers.

Required profile

• BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Fluent English, verbal and written.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Passion for aerospace and eagerness to learn.
• Preferred: at least 2 years of experience in the aerospace industry in an MRO environment.

Required skills

• Preferred: practical knowledge of engine hardware and system-level design.
• Preferred: programming and data analytics / visualization tools such as C++, Python and MATLAB.
• Preferred: experience communicating with internal and external customers.
• Preferred: knowledge of engine performance and operability concepts, component aerodynamics, air systems, heat transfer and secondary flow.
