Senior Infrastructure SRE, Object Storage

About the role

Hitachi Vantara is hiring a Senior Infrastructure SRE for its L3 Support team in Singapore. The team delivers NextGen Archive (NGA) and Enterprise Vault services to a specific client under agreed SLAs, keeping a high level of customer satisfaction. The role covers daily operations including change management, capacity management and complex incident and problem resolution, and acts as a subject matter expert.

Key responsibilities

• Provision, configure, maintain and troubleshoot multiple HCP platforms distributed worldwide.
• Identify and implement improvements to NGA/EV services, covering capacity, performance, availability, stability, cost and support roadmaps, and recommend them to the Service Delivery Management Team.
• Perform periodic capacity and performance planning and report key findings.
• Respond to and resolve NGA/EV incidents, coordinating with other technical teams and management.
• Translate engineering and security standards into low-level design documents and large and medium-scale deployments.
• Manage the lifecycle of code and firmware upgrades.
• Support audit, regulatory, risk and compliance initiatives related to NGA/EV services.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for solution design and service transition from project to operations.
• Provide on-call support on a defined rotation, with some out-of-hours work as needed.
• Mentor and train junior staff where and when required.

Required profile

• Minimum of 7 years' experience in object storage technology, preferably HCP with HCI.
• Bachelor's degree in a computer science-related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Good knowledge of core IT protocols and systems (virtualisation, servers, networks, storage, databases, data centres, security); a system administration background is ideal.
• Ability to learn new platforms and apply them to business needs.
• Understanding of backup and disaster recovery principles in archive environments.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Desirable: Hitachi storage (E1090s, G700s, B26/B28s), Pulse Secure/Ivanti load balancers, Cisco Ethernet, Brocade and Cisco SAN, Hitachi HCP and HCI, workflow design, hypervisors (VMware or KVM), RHEL, data fields, metadata and search/indexing, ITIL v4 certification, banking/finance IT experience.
