Senior Java Developer - Banking Microservices

About the role

Fuku is looking for a Senior IT Analyst with strong Java microservices development experience to join its technology team in Singapore. The role builds scalable, secure and high-performance banking applications, designing, developing and maintaining microservices that power core banking, payments and customer-facing platforms. It involves close collaboration with architects, DevOps engineers and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy Java-based microservices using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Build and optimise RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures supporting banking workflows.
• Work with MySQL, including schema design, query optimisation and transaction management.
• Collaborate with front-end, integration and infrastructure teams on end-to-end solutions.
• Write unit, integration and contract tests with JUnit, TestNG and Mockito.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
• Ensure compliance with banking security standards and regulatory requirements such as the MAS TRM Guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams.
• Self-motivated, committed to code quality and continuous learning.

Required skills

• Java 11 or higher and Spring Boot (Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security).
• Microservices architecture, including service discovery, API gateways and distributed tracing.
• MySQL, including complex queries, indexing, stored procedures and performance tuning.
• RESTful API design, OpenAPI/Swagger and versioning strategies.
• Docker and Kubernetes are advantageous.
