Senior Laundry and Hygiene Supervisor

About the role

The Senior Laundry and Hygiene Supervisor ensures a safe, clean and infection‑controlled environment for residents, staff and visitors at St Joseph's Home. The role leads laundry, linen and environmental hygiene operations, driving quality, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end laundry and linen services, including collection, washing, drying, folding, distribution and storage, while meeting service standards and IPC guidelines.
• Supervise environmental cleaning across resident rooms, common areas, clinical zones and support spaces, ensuring routine, terminal and deep‑cleaning procedures are followed.
• Lead and develop laundry and hygiene staff through scheduling, coaching, on‑the‑job training and performance monitoring.
• Maintain strict infection‑prevention and quality‑assurance practices, conducting inspections and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage inventory of linen, cleaning chemicals and equipment, and coordinate equipment maintenance and process optimisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising laundry and hygiene teams in a residential healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPC) standards and environmental cleaning protocols.
• Ability to plan manpower, create duty rosters and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
