Senior New Product Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a platform‑level Senior New Product Manufacturing Engineer to lead manufacturing readiness for Factory Interface (FI) and Mainframe platforms. The role bridges electrical and mechanical domains, driving NPI to high‑volume manufacturing transitions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing readiness for FI/Mainframe platforms, including BOM, OMS and build strategies.
• Drive DFx, early NPI engagement and virtual builds to identify manufacturability risks.
• Own NPI‑to‑HVM transition focusing on quality, cycle time and system stability.
• Provide real‑time troubleshooting for line‑down and system‑level issues and lead root‑cause corrective actions.
• Support supplier builds, first‑article validation and coordinate with regional contract manufacturers.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in New Product Manufacturing Engineering or system engineering roles.
• Strong background in FI/Mainframe systems with electrical and mechanical integration.
• Proven track record in NPI, system integration and manufacturing support.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to supplier or CM sites.

Required skills

• Electrical controls and CES expertise.
• Mechanical integration and system‑level troubleshooting.
• BOM management, DFx and change control.
• Analysis of electrical schematics, harness designs and cable assemblies.
• Root‑cause analysis (RCCA) and corrective action implementation.
