Senior Project Manager – AI & Data (Banking Industry)

About the role

ABeam Consulting is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead strategic AI, GenAI and data initiatives for a leading bank. You will own end‑to‑end delivery, ensuring projects align with the bank’s standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of AI, GenAI, analytics and data platform programs, from initiation to closure.
• Define and manage scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables and success criteria with business and technology stakeholders.
• Develop integrated project plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocations while proactively handling risks, issues, dependencies and change requests.
• Serve as primary contact for senior stakeholders, technology leads, vendors and regional counterparts, facilitating governance through steering committees and decision forums.
• Embed responsible AI principles—including ethics, privacy, security and regulatory compliance—throughout the project lifecycle.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear executive‑level communications and decision materials.
• Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting and cost tracking, and lead vendor engagement.
• Provide accurate status reports, dashboards and governance artefacts, conduct post‑implementation reviews and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior project managers and foster a culture of accountability and innovation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Business or a related field.
• Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) preferred; Agile/Scrum certification an advantage.
• Minimum 12 years of IT project management experience, with 3–5 years leading large‑scale AI or data initiatives.
• Proven experience in regulated environments such as banking or financial services.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to operate effectively in a regional, multicultural setting.
