Senior Research Assistant - Immunology

About the role

The Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) Research Laboratory is looking for a Senior Research Assistant to join its core team of scientists conducting immunology research on infectious diseases of public health significance. The work covers characterising immune responses to infections and vaccines, immune profiling to evaluate novel therapies, and assessing population immunity. The role suits someone who can manage several priorities and stakeholders at once in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, running and analysing research in the Immunology section of the CDA Research Laboratory.
• Perform cellular immunological assays (ELISPOT, cytokine profiling, immunophenotyping), antibody-based assays (ELISA and virus neutralisation) and cell culture.
• Prepare, handle and process clinical specimens.
• Support the coordination and management of clinical studies.
• Help with data analysis, reports, manuscripts and presentations.
• Maintain core research capabilities for epidemic preparedness and response.
• Help with general laboratory maintenance and other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Biomedical Science, with a relevant major in life sciences, biological sciences, immunology or infectious disease.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience in an immunology laboratory and strong competence in related techniques is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work effectively with a cross-functional team.
