Senior Software Engineer - .com and Commerce Engineering

About the role

Autodesk's Growth Experience Technology (GET) organization is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team behind .com and Commerce Engineering, which powers Autodesk's digital experience and commerce platforms. The team builds a scalable, highly available, performant platform used by millions of users worldwide, and works in a high-performing Scrum team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
• Contribute to system architecture, design discussions and technical decisions across engineering teams
• Write clean, maintainable, production-grade code and promote best practices such as code reviews, automated testing and documentation
• Take ownership of code quality by writing automated tests and ensuring adequate test coverage across services and APIs
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality
• Work with Architects, DevOps, Product and Support teams to deliver reliable software
• Translate business requirements into technical designs, implementation plans and effort estimates
• Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems and microservices
• Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks and processes to improve productivity and performance
• Join a rotating on-call schedule to support production systems
• Mentor junior engineers through design reviews and knowledge sharing

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related technical field
• 5-8 years of software development experience
• Experience designing REST and/or gRPC APIs within microservices architectures
• Solid understanding of cloud-native architecture and experience with AWS services
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience creating technical design documentation (HLDs, LLDs, RFCs)
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and familiarity with observability tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace

Required skills

• Node.js, TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React)
• Automated testing with Playwright, Cypress, Jest or similar
• Docker and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Spinnaker
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills
