Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) - 1-Year Contract

About the role

The Future of Finance Institute (FFI) is a newly established industry platform bringing together financial institutions, FinTechs, technology firms and research partners to support emerging technologies such as AI, digital assets and next-generation financial infrastructure in Singapore. It is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to help build the digital platforms, services and tools that support these initiatives. This is a 1-year contract.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain full-stack applications supporting FFI's programmes and industry initiatives
• Build digital platforms, services and APIs that help financial institutions deploy new technological capabilities
• Design and implement secure backend services, data platforms and system integrations
• Work across frontend, backend, cloud and data environments to deliver reliable, secure and maintainable software
• Shape the technical architecture, engineering practices and technology choices behind FFI's digital capabilities
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and software engineering best practices
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues and improve system performance, security and reliability
• Enhance platforms and services based on user feedback and evolving industry needs

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of full-stack development experience, able to work independently while collaborating in cross-functional teams
• Previous experience in financial services, banking, insurance or FinTech
• Track record of building secure, internet-facing applications with user authentication
• Understanding of secure coding practices in regulated financial environments
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholder priorities in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment

Required skills

• Frontend: Angular and React
• Backend: Node.js (Express), Python (Django/Flask), Java (Spring Boot) or .NET Core
• Databases: RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) and caching (Redis)
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), Docker, container orchestration and microservices
• CI/CD, SQL optimisation, database design, Git and automated testing
• Preferred: Kubernetes, Terraform or CloudFormation, vector databases and AI/ML infrastructure
