Senior Software Engineer (Java)

About the role

Capgemini Singapore is looking for a talented Java Backend Developer to design, develop and support scalable enterprise applications. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, high‑performance solutions for financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Design, develop and maintain Java‑based backend services using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud and micro‑services architecture.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and event‑driven solutions with Kafka.
• Provide L3 production support, including troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
• Participate in code reviews, promote best practices and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Work closely with Product, QA, Infrastructure and DevOps teams to ensure high‑quality releases.
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory and governance standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 3–7 years of hands‑on backend development experience with Java.
• Strong understanding of micro‑services, RESTful API design and event‑driven architectures.
• Experience in financial services or similarly regulated environments is a plus.
