Senior Software Engineer - Java Spring Boot & Agentic AI

About the role

A growing digital banking organisation is recruiting a Senior Software Engineer in Singapore. The team builds production-grade digital banking solutions for both customer-facing services and internal operations, combining traditional backend engineering with AI-enabled products. You will join a hands-on engineering team building scalable backend platforms and AI-enabled banking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend applications and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build services, APIs and integrations connecting AI agents with core banking, payments, identity and customer systems.
• Implement Agentic AI workflows, orchestration logic and AI-enabled product capabilities.
• Develop and maintain cloud-native banking platforms, APIs and data/event pipelines.
• Ensure applications meet high standards across security, resilience, testing, observability and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• 5-8 years of software engineering experience, with strong hands-on backend development experience.
• Experience within banking or financial services, particularly core banking, payments, KYC, AML or screening systems.
• Strong interest in AI/Agentic AI technologies; exposure to RAG, AI frameworks or agent frameworks is advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including production-grade APIs and microservices.
• Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, public cloud, cloud-native technologies and Kubernetes.
