Senior Software Engineer, Lending Platform

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its lending platform in Singapore. You will architect, design and implement large-scale, secure and scalable systems that let enterprise clients embed credit products, and lay the technical foundation for future financing products. This is an in-office role, five days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of robust services powering lending and credit products.
• Build secure, scalable, well-documented APIs that let clients embed and consume credit products.
• Lead design reviews, advise on systems architecture and mentor engineers on code quality.
• Drive resilient distributed-systems design and engineering practices for reliability, scalability and security at global scale.
• Improve stability and delivery efficiency through automated testing, code review, monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and stay close to industry trends affecting the platform.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with strong exposure to CI and quality engineering.
• At least 2 years in a technical leadership role, mentoring engineers and defining engineering strategy.
• Strong CS foundation, object-oriented programming and backend systems experience.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, domain-driven design and event-driven architectures in production.
• Track record of high-throughput, low-latency, highly available distributed systems.
• Cloud experience with GCP or AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, CloudFront) and Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus.
• Preferred: experience with SaaS products offered as a platform.
