Senior Software Engineer – Messaging Platform

About the role

8x8 is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its global messaging platform team in Singapore. You will help design, build, and evolve high‑performance, reliable services that power real‑time communications for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new RESTful APIs and backend microservices.
• Optimize existing services for scalability, latency, and reliability.
• Write comprehensive unit tests and contribute to integration test design.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Hands‑on experience with high‑throughput, distributed systems in production.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and decision‑making abilities.
• Team player who thrives in cross‑functional environments.

Required skills

• .NET Core and C#
• RESTful web services and microservices architecture
• Multi‑threaded and asynchronous programming
• Message queue engines such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
• SQL and NoSQL databases
• Unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure)
• Kubernetes, Helm, and service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio)
