Senior Software Engineer, Web (Full Stack)

About the role

BitMEX is looking for a Senior Front End Engineer (Web/API) to design and implement fast, real‑time web applications for its crypto derivatives trading platform. You will work with a React‑based stack, optimizing performance and ensuring seamless integration with backend services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the BitMEX web frontend and reusable React components.
• Design, implement, and tune new features, fix bugs, and improve performance.
• Collaborate with API and Engine teams to integrate consumer‑facing products.
• Help develop and maintain APIs that support various trading experiences.
• Explore and evaluate new stack components and architectural ideas.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of JavaScript performance characteristics.
• Experience with Node.js, React, and Flux architecture.
• Proficiency in Flow or TypeScript.
• Ability to make complex, data‑driven products accessible to end users.
• Capacity to work on multiple products and concepts simultaneously.
• Familiarity with current UX trends and curiosity about new UI concepts.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
