Senior Staff Nurse (Neurology/Neurosurgery Specialty)

About the role

SingHealth is recruiting a Senior Staff Nurse (Specialty) for its Neurology/neurosurgery department. The nurse assesses, develops, implements and evaluates the clinical practice setting and standard of care for patients, acting as a clinical resource person for nursing staff and managing a practice caseload in neuroscience.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with nursing staff of all grades, physicians and the inter-disciplinary team to provide optimal patient care and outcomes.
• Manage a practice caseload in neuroscience and support nursing colleagues in patient management.
• Adopt evidence-based clinical practice and teach nursing staff through teaching programmes.
• Provide resources and comprehensive patient education programmes for patients, families and the public.
• Be cross-trained and deployed to provide nursing care in the Endovascular Centre.
• Able to perform rotating shifts and on-call duties.

Required profile

• Recognised general nursing qualification and registration with the Singapore Nursing Board.
• Degree in Nursing or Advanced Diploma in Nursing, or equivalent, in a Neuroscience specialty (preferred).
• At least 5 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Good communication skills and a good team player.
