Senior Staff Nurse (Wound Care)

About the role

The Senior Staff Nurse (Wound Care) provides expert clinical care for patients with acute and chronic wounds, ostomy and continence issues. The role involves direct patient assessment, advanced wound management, and serving as a consultant and educator to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive clinical assessment of patients with wounds, including skin, tissue viability, vascular status, pain, nutrition, and risk for pressure injuries.
• Deliver advanced wound care interventions such as wound cleansing, dressing selection, compression therapy, NPWT application, and conservative sharp debridement.
• Provide wound care consultation and education to multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and external providers, supporting evidence‑based practice and continuity of care.
• Lead clinical quality improvement initiatives, audits, and research activities related to wound, ostomy, skin and continence care.
• Maintain accurate documentation, manage wound care inventory, and coordinate training programmes and professional education events.
