Senior System Engineer – Managed Services Cross‑Technology (L3/4)

About the role

The Senior System Engineer will act as the ultimate technical authority for core platforms, cloud infrastructure and advanced system engineering within a Managed Services environment. This architect‑level position is responsible for ensuring operational resilience across cloud, security, networking, applications and collaboration domains, and serves as the final escalation tier for complex incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Define multi‑year cloud infrastructure roadmaps and design fault‑tolerant SRE patterns, automated failover and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Lead 4th‑line escalation for cross‑platform incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and enforce SLA compliance.
• Write, audit and standardise mission‑critical Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Python, Go) and GitOps/CI‑CD pipelines.
• Mentor junior and senior engineering teams, document knowledge and audit infrastructure code, ticket quality and change‑management risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computing or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven ability to work under high pressure, communicate across cultures and maintain a client‑first mindset.
• Strong expertise in formal risk mitigation, change management and SLA governance.

• Cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, VMware (vSphere, vRA, Horizon VDI, SRM).
• Containers & orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker, SUSE Rancher.
• Automation & IaC: Terraform, Ansible, Python, Go, GitLab CI/CD.
• Storage & backup: Veeam, Rubrik, Hitachi (HDS/HCP), NetApp.
• Security & identity: CyberArk (EPV, CPM, PSM, PVWA), Opswat, NeuVector, Active Directory.
• Operating systems: Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu), Windows Server (WSUS), OpenGear Console.
• Monitoring & analytics: Splunk Enterprise, Grafana, Nvidia AI.
