Senior Technical / Technical Manager, Cloud & Software Engineering

About the role

This role provides technical leadership in the design, development and implementation of secure and scalable digital solutions. It covers software development, DevSecOps and cloud/infrastructure engineering, with hands-on implementation, architecture reviews and mentoring of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and hands-on implementation across software development, DevSecOps and cloud/infrastructure engineering
• Review solution architecture and engineering approaches
• Work with engineering teams and stakeholders so solutions are secure, reliable, maintainable and aligned with technical standards and best practices
• Drive engineering improvements, resolve complex technical issues and mentor engineers across technical disciplines

Required profile

• Knowledge in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience in software development, DevOps/DevSecOps, cloud/infrastructure engineering or solution architecture
• Broad technical knowledge across software development, DevOps and infrastructure/cloud engineering, with deeper expertise in one or more areas
• Hands-on capability, including development, automation, infrastructure provisioning and troubleshooting
• Ability to review technical designs, identify risks and trade-offs, and provide practical engineering solutions
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to lead and mentor teams
• Advantageous: knowledge of Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) and SHIP-HATS

Required skills

• Familiarity with programming, scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform, Python, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with CI/CD, containers, APIs and modern software development practices
• Good knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture (compute, networking, storage, security, monitoring)
• Understanding of cybersecurity and secure software development practices
