Senior Transportation Manager

About the role

The Senior Transportation Manager will lead daily transport operations across container haulage and local distribution in a fast‑paced contract logistics environment. You will own the transport P&L, drive operational excellence and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage transport budgets, control costs and achieve profitability targets.
• Optimize vehicle scheduling, route planning and resource allocation in partnership with operations teams.
• Monitor, analyse and report KPIs to improve productivity, service levels and cost efficiency.
• Handle RFQs/RFPs, develop pricing strategies and support business development.
• Negotiate rates and manage relationships with vendors, contractors and service providers.
• Identify new transport business opportunities with account and commercial teams.
• Lead continuous‑improvement and digitalisation initiatives using TMS, data analytics and operational technologies.
• Oversee incident and accident management, ensuring corrective actions and a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of logistics, transportation or 3PL experience, including at least 5 years in a people‑leadership role.
• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Strong knowledge of container haulage, local distribution and Singapore PSA port operations.
• Experience with cross‑border transport between Singapore and Malaysia is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a dynamic environment.
