Senior/Executive AI Software Developer - Transport AI Programme

About the role

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is recruiting a Senior/Executive AI Software Developer for its Transport AI Programme. The programme builds and maintains AI-powered applications and services that improve how Singapore's land transport network is sensed, managed and optimised. You will work closely with data scientists, AI architects and operations teams, translating AI models into production-grade software, and report to the Transport AI Programme Deputy Director.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain AI-powered applications for public transport operations, traffic management and road operations.
• Integrate large language models, computer vision models and other AI/ML components into workflows, including RAG pipelines and agentic systems.
• Apply and benchmark techniques such as quantization, pruning, distillation and speculative decoding to optimise LLMs and deep learning models for inference.
• Evaluate inference engines (vLLM, TensorRT-LLM, Triton Inference Server) and recommend trade-offs between performance, cost and resilience.
• Build and maintain APIs, microservices and data pipelines connecting AI capabilities to operational systems.
• Implement guardrails, evaluation frameworks and observability tooling for safe, reliable production use.
• Collaborate with industry partners on co-development, keeping code quality and documentation standards high.
• Take part in red-teaming, prompt-injection testing and other AI safety activities, and support deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related degree, with 3-6 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years on AI or ML-integrated systems.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with modern AI/ML frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch or equivalents.
• Experience with cloud-native development (AWS, Azure or GCP), containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines is expected.
• Familiarity with responsible AI practices (evaluation harnesses, hallucination mitigation, model monitoring) is a strong advantage.
• Experience in regulated or government environments is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and comfort in cross-functional, Agile teams.
