Senior/Principal Engineer - Structural Safety

About the role

The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) is looking for a Senior/Principal Engineer to join its team that processes and approves the structural plans and calculations of buildings submitted by Professional Engineers and Accredited Checkers. The role sits within the built environment sector's work to deliver a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process and approve structural plans and calculations submitted by Professional Engineers and Accredited Checkers.
• Audit selected structures and carry out construction site checks.
• Take proactive action to prevent damage to adjacent properties.
• Investigate complaints about dangerous buildings, assess their structural integrity and safety.
• Review policies and regulations related to the safety of the built environment.

Required profile

• Degree in civil and structural engineering.
• At least 4 years of experience in structural design and analysis of buildings or infrastructure.
• Passed the Practice of Professional Engineering Examination (PPE).
• Preferably a registered professional engineer with the Professional Engineers Board Singapore.
