Service Engineer (Marine Engines)

About the role

The Service Engineer will support the Service Manager and Superintendent Engineer in delivering technical expertise for marine engine projects across Singapore. This on‑site role involves coordinating service schedules, providing training, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with client interactions, including appraisals, assessments, and post‑service comments.
• Coordinate service schedules with project managers, sales teams, and customers to meet contractual deadlines and technical specifications.
• Deliver training and education to staff and customers on operational and maintenance procedures.
• Investigate warranty issues, determine root causes, and generate recommendations for headquarters.
• Collect market and technical information from service engagements to support sales and service improvement.
• Execute commissioning, maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and troubleshooting on engines, turbochargers, auxiliary systems, and related equipment.
• Plan service assignments, including spare‑part requirements, technical data analysis, and tool verification.
• Perform Last Minute Risk Analysis and adhere strictly to HSE regulations and PPE usage.
• Coach and supervise less‑experienced technicians on‑site during maintenance and testing.
• Document technical findings, produce service reports, condition photographs, and spare‑part advice in English following ISO guidelines.

Required profile

• Strong understanding and commitment to health and safety regulations.
• Technical competence with two‑ and four‑stroke engines, turbochargers, propulsion systems, and on‑site recovery.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in heavy equipment, maritime, or power‑plant industries.
• Practical experience with mechanical and automation systems, including troubleshooting, commissioning, and field service work.
