Software Application Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a technically minded and customer‑focused Software Application Engineer to support our dimensional metrology solutions for the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing industries. The role bridges engineering and customer applications, helping users maximise the value of our measurement systems through application development, technical support, training and problem‑solving.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise measurement applications for customer‑specific requirements.
• Collaborate with customers and channel partners to understand technical challenges and recommend effective solutions.
• Perform application feasibility studies, demonstrations and proof‑of‑concept evaluations.
• Provide technical training and application support to customers, distributors and internal teams.
• Assist with system installations, acceptance testing and customer onboarding.
• Work with engineering teams to identify product improvements and new application opportunities.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and deliver timely solutions to customers and partners.
• Participate in industry exhibitions, seminars and customer visits as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a passion for mathematics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with customers, partners and cross‑functional teams.
• Curious, customer‑oriented and comfortable presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
• Organised, self‑motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Matlab, C, C++, Python, C# or Java.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with machine vision, metrology, inspection, automation or manufacturing systems.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, advanced packaging or precision engineering.
• Understanding of dimensional metrology and measurement principles.
