Software Engineer – Android Trust

About the role

Google is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Android Trust team in Singapore. You will help protect billions of Android users from abusive apps by building security‑focused tools and services that operate at massive scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement detection mechanisms for malware, content abuse, impersonation and behavioral abuse in Android apps.
• Develop and maintain production infrastructure for static and dynamic program analysis on real devices and virtual machines.
• Apply supervised, unsupervised and generative AI techniques to identify privacy and security violations.
• Research and publish novel security solutions, including reverse‑engineering automation and agentic AI threat defenses.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security features into Android’s ecosystem.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of software development experience in languages such as C++, Java or Python.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms and network protocols.
• Experience or strong interest in Android system/app development, security, privacy, cloud or virtual‑machine technologies.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their safety implications.
