Software Engineer, Android/Chrome Security Infrastructure

About the role

Google is seeking a Software Engineer to join a new Singapore team focused on AI‑driven tooling for the supply‑chain security of Android, Chrome, and ChromeOS. You will apply your security expertise to protect billions of users by improving source‑code trust, build integrity, and third‑party risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI‑based tools that analyze third‑party package usage and assess security risk.
• Automate version‑upgrade processes and detect suspicious patterns in upstream repository governance.
• Develop risk‑signal generation, automated penetration‑testing capabilities, and chain‑of‑custody verification for builds.
• Build autonomous or semi‑autonomous agents to scale security operations and address complex threats.
• Collaborate with Android, Chromium, and Google Cloud teams to harden infrastructure and improve overall security posture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience (or 1 year with an advanced degree).
• 2 years of experience building software for data privacy or security, such as identity and access management.
• Strong security background with the ability to work across the full stack and take ownership of complex problems.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java, Golang, and Python.
• Experience developing for Android or Chromium platforms.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud services.
• Knowledge of open‑source supply‑chain security, malware analysis, intrusion detection, and anomaly analysis.
• Experience creating AI agents or automation tools.
