Software Engineer – Google Ads

About the role

Google Ads is looking for a Software Engineer to help build and scale advertising products that connect people, publishers, and advertisers worldwide. You will work on high‑throughput systems that power search, display, shopping, travel, and video ads, contributing to both real‑time serving stacks and offline data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Dive deep into complex, high‑throughput advertising systems and large codebases to drive performance improvements.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle—from design and architecture to implementation, testing, and global deployment.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in real‑time serving stacks and offline data pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, build, and ship new features for Google Ads products.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of software development experience in languages such as C++, Java, Python, or Go.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and back‑end development.
• Experience in two or more areas: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile development, distributed/parallel systems, networking, software systems, or security.
• Preferred: full‑stack development experience, front‑end skills (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS), ML model coding (Python), and accessibility technology development.
