Software Engineer II, Enterprise Data Protection

About the role

Google is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Enterprise Data Protection (EDP) team in Singapore. You will help design, build, and maintain security controls that protect Google’s intellectual property from accidental or malicious exfiltration, including threats from autonomous AI agents.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and evolve security controls across systems that store or process intellectual property.
• Collaborate with Security Engineers, Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, and other stakeholders to deploy preventive exfiltration measures.
• Design and build controls for Workspace, Chrome, Bug Manager, corporate endpoints, and access‑management services.
• Develop next‑generation, context‑aware security mechanisms that mitigate threats from agentic AI actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• At least 1 year of full‑stack development experience (back‑end and front‑end).
• Preferred: Master's or PhD, experience with multiple languages, and background in security, machine learning, distributed systems, Unix/Linux, or web/mobile applications.
