Software Engineer Intern (Game Backend)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer Intern to join Higogame’s backend team in Singapore. You will work on the development and optimisation of our game server framework, gaining hands‑on experience in a fast‑growing mobile gaming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing, testing and optimising server‑side logic modules for live games.
• Support monitoring of server stability and perform basic performance analysis under senior guidance.
• Identify, document and resolve minor bugs and technical issues during development and operation.
• Participate in team meetings, code reviews and adopt professional programming standards.
• Learn and apply best practices for building robust, secure backend systems.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing an Associate, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of at least one programming language such as Golang, C++, C#, Java or Python.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, client‑server communication and serialization formats (JSON or Protobuf).
• Foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, networking concepts, databases (MySQL, Redis) and core data structures/algorithms.
• Familiarity with Git and issue‑tracking tools like Jira.
• Strong analytical mindset, proactive learning attitude and collaborative spirit.
