Software Engineer – Service Platform

About the role

Join the Service Platform team at ByteDance to build the cloud foundation that powers the company’s global ecosystem. You will design and enhance core platform services that enable safer, more efficient deployments for internal engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise core platform services and ecosystem components.
• Collaborate with AI infrastructure teams to integrate specialised tooling and execution environments.
• Continuously improve platform efficiency and cost‑effectiveness through system optimisation.
• Establish and enforce platform‑engineering best practices across internal product lines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Strong systems‑programming background with experience in large‑scale system design.
• Deep understanding of Linux, networking (TCP/IP, HTTP) and distributed systems.
• Experience building infrastructure products such as monitoring, logging, service mesh or storage solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud‑native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and PaaS concepts.
