Solutions Architect

About the role

Prudential Singapore is looking for a Solutions Architect to design, develop and support applications. You will work closely with business units and other IT teams to deliver technology that enables digital capabilities, designing and validating solutions that align with business objectives and enterprise standards. The role bridges business needs and technical delivery, aiming for scalable, secure and cost-effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to turn their requirements into scalable, secure and cost-effective solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
• Provide end-to-end architectural guidance for new projects and initiatives (e.g. LSRC and GSRC).
• Define solution blueprints, integration patterns and technology stacks within enterprise governance.
• Work with internal teams such as PACS, SRE, Infrastructure, TRM, BISO and Core Systems, resolving inter-team dependencies.
• Design and lead proof of concepts to validate new ideas, documenting outcomes and recommendations.
• Ensure solutions comply with architecture principles, security frameworks and group strategy, and take part in architecture forums.
• Address existing architectural pain points and drive simplification, modernisation and optimisation initiatives.

Required profile

• 6-8 years of experience designing, developing and supporting applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in Agile software development.
• Independence, strong problem analysis, creativity, good communication and willingness to be hands-on.

• One or more of: AS400, iSeries, COBOL, IBM MQ, Business Objects, Java EE, RDBMS and PL/SQL, NoSQL, RESTful API, JBoss / IBM WAS, mobile development (Objective-C, Swift, Android, HTML5), ETL (IBM Datastage), Hadoop, functional and load testing (QTP, JMeter), RPA (BluePrism, UiPath)
