Special Education Teacher

About the role

KidsFirst is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join its early‑intervention centre in Singapore. This full‑time hybrid position involves developing and delivering individualized educational plans for children aged 2‑12 with diverse developmental challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and regularly review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student.
• Provide specialised instruction tailored to the unique learning needs of children with autism, ADHD, language delays, Down syndrome, and other disabilities.
• Collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, families, and other educators to ensure a cohesive support network.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to promote social, emotional, and academic growth.
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate student development to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of special‑education practices and experience working with children with disabilities.
• Proven ability to teach middle‑school‑aged students.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with families, therapists, and staff.
• Knowledge of IEP development and personalised learning strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field.
• Relevant certification in teaching Special Education.
• Previous experience in an early‑intervention or similar educational setting is an advantage.
