Sr. GPU Cloud K8S Expert (SRE SME)

About the role

Bitdeer is looking for a senior expert to design, operate and scale GPU‑focused Kubernetes clusters for AI and high‑performance computing workloads. You will own the full lifecycle of GPU clusters, from provisioning bare‑metal servers to delivering reliable, multi‑tenant services.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain production Kubernetes clusters optimized for 100–10,000 GPUs.
• Configure Nvidia GPU operator, device plugins, MIG and time‑slicing policies.
• Implement topology‑aware scheduling, including GPU locality, NVLink and network rail affinity.
• Develop custom resource definitions (CRDs) for GPU workload lifecycle management.
• Integrate AI frameworks such as Slurm, Ray and Kubeflow on Kubernetes.
• Ensure multi‑tenant isolation with namespaces, network policies, quotas, RBAC and pod security standards.
• Provide Bare‑Metal as a Service (BMaaS) with automated provisioning, onboarding and reclamation.
• Create Terraform providers and modules for infrastructure‑as‑code across GPU clusters.
• Define and meet SLI/SLO targets for cluster availability, job completion and provisioning latency.
• Automate incident response, runbooks, monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager) and alerting (PagerDuty).

Required profile

• 5+ years of Kubernetes operations experience, including at least 2 years managing GPU workloads.
• Deep knowledge of Nvidia GPU operator, device plugins and GPU scheduling in Kubernetes.
• Experience building multi‑tenant Kubernetes platforms with strong isolation guarantees.
• Background in bare‑metal provisioning and lifecycle automation (e.g., Ironic, MAAS).
• Strong SRE mindset with experience defining SLI/SLO frameworks and capacity planning.

Required skills

• Terraform, Helm and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD or Flux).
• Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager and PagerDuty for monitoring and alerting.
• Go or Python programming for operator and CRD development.
• Knowledge of AI framework integrations such as Slurm, Ray and Kubeflow.
