Staff Engineer GFac South Asia CSA

About the role

Micron is hiring a Staff Engineer for its Global Facilities (CSA) team covering South Asia. As a regional CSA engineer (Civil, Structural and Architectural), you provide technical support and expertise, and lead business-process alignment on construction project design, management, schedule, cost control, testing and commissioning, and operations and maintenance programs at manufacturing sites in your region. You also support the Global Facilities Central Engineering, Construction, Line Planning and O&M teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and construction of regional green-field projects aligned to global standards, and support site projects, technology transfer and sustainability projects
• Review and approve site capacity expansion and sustainability capital expenditure, and make business-driven decisions on reliability improvement projects
• Support site system improvement projects, major SIPP reviews, and share lessons learned and global standards
• Act as single point of contact for regional sites and central teams, and provide metrics reporting alignment
• Technically lead a cross-functional team and oversee major construction projects, including submittal reviews, change orders, QA/QC of design documents and RFI and shop drawing reviews
• Prepare structural calculations, RFPs, design documentation, quantity estimates and cost estimates, and conduct site visits and field surveys
• Provide engineering for semiconductor manufacturing facility changes, including tool installations and R&D applications, and prepare bid sheets and contracts
• Inspect construction progress against drawings, specifications and schedules, and develop performance specifications and cost/schedule estimates
• Evaluate existing structures, acoustical and vibration requirements, and lead a sustaining structural design team
• Support sustainability projects, benchmark system performance and drive continuous improvement

Required profile

• Experience working with A&E and construction firms on industrial facilities, including structural and architectural scope
• Excellent knowledge of steel, precast, OSB and reinforced concrete design
• Good working knowledge of structural analysis software
• Experience assessing existing structures and designing new builds
