Strategic Buyer - General Procurement

About the role

Airbus is hiring a Strategic Buyer for its General Procurement (GP) function in Singapore, covering indirect procurement across all divisions under the 'One Roof' concept. The role reports to the Head of General Procurement APAC, ensures full compliance with procurement processes and aims to secure optimal cost savings with a high-quality, sustainable supply base aligned with Airbus's sustainability vision.

Key responsibilities

• Manage RFQs, validate them and issue Purchase Orders
• Run end-to-end sourcing projects, including calls for tenders and transnational projects, negotiating terms and overseeing contract management
• Draft and negotiate contracts to mitigate risk and protect optimal conditions throughout the supplier lifecycle
• Act as a strategic partner to internal customers, leading Multi-Function Teams on the procurement strategy, stakeholder engagement and performance reviews
• Manage supplier relationships to optimise customer value while minimising total cost of ownership and risks
• Drive local and regional sourcing initiatives and procurement metrics using GP tracking tools, in line with Airbus values and the Code of Conduct
• Act as a Centre of Competence, mentoring buyers in RPO and other locations
• Support the Head of GP APAC in regional change management and serve as an escalation point for complex issues
• Depute the Head of GP APAC when absent and help implement the regional sustainability supply chain roadmap, including human rights and the Supplier Code of Conduct
• Lead regional governance of strategic projects such as Project REFINE and report progress to stakeholders

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
• At least 7 years of experience in procurement
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders and the ability to drive results independently
• Excellent spoken and written English, good communication and presentation skills, and the ability to influence others

Required skills

• Strong negotiation skills and good knowledge of contract and contract monitoring
• Good analytical skills
• Competence in Google Suite, SAP, Coupa and Microsoft Office
