Summer Internship Programme – International Arbitration (May-August 2027)

About the role

Freshfields' international arbitration group in Singapore is widely recognised as the leading international arbitration practice in Asia, with a deep pool of associates with world-class international arbitration experience, including its investor-State arbitration practice. The Summer Internship Programme runs from May to August 2027 and is open to outstanding students in all years of an undergraduate or graduate law or non-law degree.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the team on research and writing assignments.
• Prepare materials for hearings in which the team is involved during the internship.

Required profile

• Outstanding academic record; at or near the top of your class.
• Passion for advocacy, research and writing.
• Interest in international cases and issues.
• Able to work well with colleagues and clients from diverse backgrounds and legal traditions.
• Eager to take on challenging legal assignments and gain substantive, practical experience.

Applications close on 31 December 2026. You must complete the application form yourself, uploading your CV, cover letter, university transcripts and a short legal writing sample. After submission, you will be contacted by email and asked to attend an interview in person or via Microsoft Teams. The Singapore office is only licensed to advise on Singapore law in the context of international arbitration and does not offer training contracts there.
